Editing

Why use an editor?

Editors do what writers can't – look at what has been written with an outsider's eye. Editors are not caught up in the detail and the process of generating a report or proposal, for example. Editors concentrate on what the document needs to achieve, while ensuring that the content and the layout support the message.

Who needs an editor?

Like it or not, English is the language of business in South Africa. It may be one of the  easiest languages to learn to speak, but writing it right is not as easy. Anyone who needs to ensure their English is both correct and appropriate can use an editor. Don't let your readers be distracted by clumsy English or trivial errors. Your professional image is worth more than that.

How does editing make a difference to me?

A well-edited document allows its readers to focus on what the document is meant to do – get its message across clearly, concisely and professionally.
